What is Gilbert?

Gilbert Magazine is a lively romp through politics, art, and religion from a Chestertonian point of view. The magazine has been highly praised from an amazing variety of readers. You will love it, too.

Every issue includes Chesterton essays, poems, drawings and plenty of his incomparable quotations.

Among the regular features are " News with Views" and "Chesterton's Mailbag"

Regular columnists include:

  • "Schall on Chesterton" by James Schall
  • "Chesterton University" by Dale Ahlquist
  • "The Flying Inn" by David Beresford
  • "Jogging with G.K". by Robert Moore-Jumonville
  • "Sugar and Spice" by Frances Farrell
  • "The Wizard of Bits" by Mary De Marco
  • "The Philosopher's Wife" by Therese Warmus
  • "The Distributist" by Roy E. Moore
  • Plus a wide variety of essays and articles that demonstrate Chestertonian thinking.

What do we mean by "Chestertonian thinking"? It means looking at the world with a loving, but critical eye. We are not concerned about whether an idea is old-fashioned (so that Conservatives want to defend it) or whether an idea is progressive (so that Liberals want to promote it), we are concerned, rather, about whether an idea is true.

There is not another magazine like it on earth. The only way to receive the magazine is to join the American Chesterton Society. An annual membership entitles you to a 20% discount on books ordered from the ACS. And every six weeks, you will receive the best magazine in the world.
